The Prototype is in a 2023 Tremor package for 2 months now, customer states he is just brushing up to pushing over the 700 miles a mark from the 37 gal tank, "I guess mid 690's is close enough", so he says.  If a 34.6" tire is close enough to be considered a 35" tire for most tire companies and drivers bragging rights, we can say 700 miles depending on the driving habits.

I know the reported rating on - https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=41169 boasts 389 per tank, that is in stock trim and Fords reported EPA numbers which means it is conducted in a controlled environment. Even when you see City and Highway numbers on the Maroney sticker, City is tested in as a neighborhood speeds at 23.4 MPH and Highway is at 55.7 MPH, which when I worked for a Ford Dealership in in 2014, we were told in our tech/sales training sessions what the base speeds were to get those numbers on Ford vehicles testing, it was their counter argument to the import vehicles we were selling against in California.  There was no up nor down hill elevation changes, all flat road testing.

Our Ford Tremor test model is on 33" tires w/spare, lifted 3" inches, has full skids, rock-sliders, and an aluminum tray with a pop-up aluminum camper tray, which between the two weighs more than just a stock 6ft bed, let alone a often standard 5ft bed.  The Ranger is also outfitted with a host of Goose Gear out back in the topper (seen above); it includes a rear seat delete kit as well.

Where we would normally look at doubling the EPA reported numbers of almost 800 miles a tank if we doubled the 18 gallon tank, adding in the added weight, payload plus an additional 75 miles for the difference of the 3 gallons, we would bet in stock trim and the 37 gallon tank, you would beat the distance of the differences of stock tank plus+ 3 additional gallons..

Any questions, please inquire here or contact us directly

The Wait Is Over. The Ranger Raptor Long Range Tank Is No Longer a Prototype

Back in 2023, we shared results from our prototype testing program. At the time, we had a development unit living full-time under a Ranger Tremor test vehicle and were gathering real-world feedback from customers willing to put miles on it. Fast forward to today, and what started as a prototype is now a production reality. As with our previous-generation Ranger 37-gallon tank program, the goal was never to create a race truck accessory.

The Ford Ranger Raptor (2024+) 35-Gallon Replacement Fuel Tank has been available since mid-2024 and is currently shipping to customers across the United States. Designed specifically for the U.S.-spec Ranger Raptor, this replacement tank increases fuel capacity from the factory 20.3 gallons to 35 gallons, providing approximately 58% more onboard fuel capacity. [12degnorth.com]

The goal was simple:

Drive farther. Stop less. Carry fewer fuel cans.
Whether you're crossing Nevada, exploring the back roads of Utah, towing through Arizona, commuting long distances every week, or simply preparing for circumstances where fuel availability becomes uncertain, extra onboard fuel capacity provides a level of flexibility that stock fuel systems simply cannot match. We often hear customers talk about "distance to empty" numbers, but the reality is that every Ranger owner drives differently. Some owners will see numbers that make EPA estimates look optimistic. Others will see significantly better range due to driving style, terrain, tire selection, vehicle weight, and cruising speed. Just as a 34.6-inch tire gets called a "35" by virtually every tire manufacturer on the market, range numbers are often best discussed as practical averages rather than absolutes.

What we can say is this:
A stock Ranger Raptor starts with approximately 20 gallons of fuel capacity. The 12° North / Long Range America replacement tank raises that number to 35 gallons while retaining OEM-style filling through the factory fuel door and utilizing the original tank location. [12degnorth.com]

For customers accustomed to planning trips around fuel stations, that additional capacity can fundamentally change how the vehicle is used. The Ranger Raptor was built to go farther off pavement. Now it can stay out there longer too.
For those familiar with our earlier 2019-2023 Ranger program, you'll recognize the philosophy immediately. That tank increased capacity from 18 gallons to 37 gallons, more than doubling the factory fuel supply and earning a loyal following among overland travelers and long-distance drivers. [12degnorth.com]

The next-generation Ranger Raptor tank follows the same approach:

  • OEM replacement design
  • Uses the factory fuel door
  • No jerry cans required
  • Built from aluminized steel
  • Designed specifically around the U.S.-market Ranger Raptor platform [12degnorth.com]

The prototype phase is over.

The testing is done.

The product is on the road.

If you've been waiting for more range from your Ranger Raptor, it's available now. Questions? Feel free to reach out directly or leave a comment below.
